Sometimes Polem silos serve a different purpose than the storage of goods.

For example, we were asked if we wanted to supply silos for an art project in the 'Old Church' in Amsterdam. The silos, which are suspended from the ridge of the church building, are open at the bottom and are used as an extra sound box to play sound fragments.

The project is explained on the website of the monumental church building: After numerous visits to the church and extensive artistic research, the Scottish artist Susan Philipsz presents her context-specific sound installation, The Fall in the oldest building in the city. Philipsz is also sometimes referred to as a sound architect.

The smooth finish ensures good reverberation of the sound, especially in a round silo. That was reason enough for this artist to opt for the smooth and seamless Polem silos.

A special project that also produces special photos!
