Polem’s flat-bottomed silos: the obvious choice for many livestock farmers

The Polem flat-bottomed silo was specially developed to store products that do not always flow smoothly, such as animal feed. Because you want a continuous product flow when emptying your silo, this silo is fitted with a robust dispensing system, including a forced brush screw that prevents bridging or interruptions of the product flow.

This flat-bottomed silo is also fitted with a sophisticated system that ensures there are no fluctuations in the product composition and no chance of segregation. The dispensing system also ensures that the feed that flows into the silo first also flows out of the silo first (First In, First Out: FIFO).

Complete standard model

In the standard model, the flat-bottomed silo has been constructed for a bulk weight of 750 kg/ m2 and is available in diameters of 280, 300, 350 and 400 cm, with volumes of 35 – 120m3.

It also includes a:

• galvanised inspection hatch in the cylinder
• flat, galvanised steel bottom with a frame on 4 legs
• robust dispensing system with a forced brush screw, free-running from the bottom, Ø 150mm, capacity 9 or 4.5 ton/hour. Discharge screw on the bottom, diameter 150mm is 740mm
• gearmotor drive 400 Volt for dispensing system
• compressed air connection with electrically operated 24DC valve, pressure regulator and water separator
• semi-transparent composite, with whitened roof
• galvanised top injection pipe Ø 102mm
• plastic vent line from Ø 160mm to approx. 1700mm above the concrete foundation
• draining device on the silo
• anchored with drilled anchors.
