Polem has been developing and manufacturing composite silos and tanks for more than 50 years. We supply solutions for the storage of bulk solids and liquids in industries including food, feed, paper and pulp, de-icing, agriculture, water treatment, and general industry.

Silos
For the storage of moisture-sensitive bulk solids, Polem designs composite silos that protect raw materials against condensation, corrosion, and quality loss. Thanks to our extensive knowledge of flow behaviour, product characteristics, and structural loads, we can achieve the right flow performance for every application.
The smooth, seamless inner wall ensures good product flow and minimal product residue. The composite material is corrosion-resistant and naturally insulating due to its low thermal conductivity coefficient (λ = 0.20 W/(m·K)). This is particularly important for moisture-sensitive products, where condensation can be a challenge.
Every silo is designed specifically for the application. Parameters such as diameter, height, hopper angle, wall construction, connections, and load conditions are carefully considered. In addition, we can advise on vibrating bottoms or fluidisation systems for poorly flowing materials. We also select the appropriate filters, screw conveyors, and equipment dimensions based on your required handling capacities.
Tanks
Polem manufactures composite tanks for storage and process installations. Depending on the application, tanks are designed for chemicals, process water, wastewater, and food products.
The application also determines the material selection and construction of the tank. This includes not only the resin system, but also the wall construction. Polem offers flat-bottom tanks, cone-bottom tanks, horizontal tanks, open-top tanks, and other custom designs. Factors such as concentration, leak detection, temperature, temperature retention, medium, loads, and process requirements are all considered during the design phase.
